The plates help to prevent twist and vibration—and can boost your reaction time on the street or the track. Most of the aluminum front motor plates are 1/4 in. thick, measuring 1 ft. by 3 ft. And while they’re designed with cutouts to accommodate specific blocks, you can also trim the plates to precisely fit your application, whether it’s a classic musclecar or a late-model V8.
